International Women’s Day 2020

At Aramark Offshore we have been celebrating the work and achievements of our female employees in support of International Women’s Day on 8th March. IWD promotes unity, reflection and action globally, which is something we also endeavour to do. Here at Aramark Offshore, we fully support the philosophy that an equal world is an enabled world.

Traditionally, the offshore sector is heavily male orientated, with OGUK reporting that in 2018, despite there being a slight increase in the number of women working offshore, they only represented 3% of the total offshore workforce. However, we have noticed an increasing trend of females in our workforce as we actively strive towards gaining a level gender balance. In our global offshore business we have a female population of 22.5%, which demonstrates the encouragingly growing female workforce against the industry norm.

At Aramark we recognise the importance of diversity amongst our teams and the value this can bring to the company and our clients. We have eagerly seen a wider variety of roles being filled by women, which has helped to strengthen our capability across our business and in the offshore sector. In our US regional offshore business, we currently have six female camp bosses.

In a role which was conventionally male led, this provides encouragement that we are striving towards a more equally diverse work force, and therefore an enabled workforce. We would like to wish all a Happy International Women’s Day and express appreciation for the continuous efforts and support of all of our employees around the globe.
