Day of the Seafarer 2020 - Seafarers are Key Workers
As part of Day of the Seafarer 2020, Aramark Offshore teams across the globe proudly celebrated the dedication and hard work that is demonstrated every day by our workforce and partnerships.

This year, with the COVID-19 Pandemic posing stressful and difficult challenges globally, we have seen unprecedented circumstances – especially within remote working environments. Our business was forced to react promptly and effectively to the requirements and guidelines imposed in each jurisdiction to effectively control the spread of COVID-19, and to keep all of our clients and colleagues safe and healthy. We are pleased to say we were able to ensure hygiene standards were heightened and that correct measures were in place to reduce the risk of spread whilst at work and at home. To our people, thank you all for your efforts in making this possible – this was a global crisis where everyone truly had a part to play.

With seafarers working on the frontline, they have played an essential role in ensuring the continuous flow of vital goods and services. Our teams have had to face difficult and restrictive working conditions that have never been experienced before in the industry, with high uncertainty around access, supplies and crew changeovers.

The 2020 Day of the Seafarer campaign paid tribute to seafarers, acknowledging their sacrifice and the issues they face. We recognise many seafarers have been unable to return home for extensive periods of time due to travel restrictions and this has been very difficult. Aramark appreciates the vital role that each and every member of our team and partners play on a daily basis.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the diligence and cooperation displayed by our people, our clients, our customer and our partners throughout the recent arduous times we have faced and continue to face. We are proud to say that our teams have worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of everyone has remained paramount, and we continue to make sure health and safety is at the forefront of our operations.

“I would like to personally thank all of our colleagues and partners who have worked safely, deliberately and collaboratively throughout this difficult time. And continue to do so daily, to ensure vital services are provided efficiently and safely at all times. We would not be able to continue our business operations if it wasn’t for the remarkable contributions of all involved.”
